The kernel developers have been aware of it for some time and it has been resolved. I had sound working before upgrading to 2. Tried to compile ALSA 1. Anyone know how to force the kernel to load the newer version I’ve compiled? There is a newer version of the kernel available now and I was wondering if this had any affect on this bug.

I have a Zepto Znotewith this soundcard, and no sound. Not sure what the differance is myself as I had assumed ‘generic’ was the version. Worth to mention though, I can not mute the speakers without also muting the headphones, or wise versa.

I have the same problem, no sound at all on a fresh Aucio install. I also see that my amixer file have more information than yours. Ho do you install that backports module? I’ve followed instructions at link: Further to confuse the issue, when you copy the correct module over the old module, or controllef delete the old module, the module dependencies are still referring to the old version of snd-hda-intel.
